One Night Only

Hunted Projects is pleased to present One Night Only, the first in an evolving series of one night only exhibitions that seeks to upend the traditional 6-week exhibition schedule. This first edition of One Night Only is an International group exhibition featuring works by Alex Frost, Michiel Ceulers, Michael Staniak, Terencio Gonzalez, Cosimo Casoni, Tiziano Martini, Jordy Kerwick, Ben Charles Weiner and Alexander James Pollard.

The works featured within One Night Only reflects the individual concerns and interests of the artists involved, many of whom engage with or put pressure on abstraction and painting today. Collectively the gathered selection of art works fuse and crossover, creating an ensemble from which veiled, implicit and unexpected connections emerge and grow. 

Alex Frost (Born London, 1973) lives and works in London. He studied at Staffordshire University (1995), and The Glasgow School of Art (1998). Frost’s work has been shown nationally and internationally, including solo exhibitions in major private and public institutions including Property Guardian at Flat Time House, Future Spotters at Wewerka Pavilion, Münster, The Connoisseurs at Dundee Contemporary Arts, Adults at Milton Keynes Gallery, and Format Wars at Tramway Glasgow. He has undertaken several public commissions and participated in New Forest Pavilion at the 2009 Venice Biennale. Frost's work is held in numerous International private and public collections including the collection of Glasgow Museums.

Michiel Ceulers (Born Waregem, 1986) lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. Ceulers graduated from the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam in 2011. Recent exhibitions include A Fair Proposal at Barbara Seiler, Zurich, Wenn es zittert wie ein Ente at Dash, Belgium, LAURA at Nicodim Gallery, Los Angeles, The Man Who Mistake His Wife For a Hat, Juliette Jongma Gallery, Amsterdam and The Arts Club, London. Ceuler’s work is held in numerous International private collections.

Michael Staniak (Born Melbourne, 1982) lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. Staniak earned a BFA and an MFA from the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne as well as a BA from Middle Tennessee State University in Digital Media Communications. Recent solo exhibitions include Michael Staniak at Galerie Clemens Gunzer, Kitzbuhel, Fictions at Eduardo Secci Contemporary, Florence, IMG_ at Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis, Permanent Display at Annarumma Gallery, Naples, Guidance at Station Gallery, Melbourne, and Image DNA at Steve Turner, Los Angeles. The Contemporary Art Museum, St. Louis published a monograph of his work in 2017 titled IMG_, and he has been featured in many publications including Artforum, Flashart Italy, Vault Australia and Leap Beijing. Staniak’s work is held in numerous International private and public collections. Staniak’s work was previously exhibited in Hunted Projects exhibition, Works On Paper, 2015.

Terencio Gonzalez (Born Paris, 1987) lives and works in Paris, France. Gonzalez graduated in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Painting from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris. Recent exhibitions include Luminaria at the Sorbonne Art Gallery, Paris, Chroniques d’un été, Galerie Jérôme Pauchant, Paris, Gracias por sur Visita, Galería Kernel, Cáceres, Spain and No Offense at Crown Roots Gallery, Los Angeles. Gonzalez’ work is held in numerous collections, including the FRAC Normandie, France, and Société Générale, France.

Cosimo Casoni (Born Florence, 1990) lives and works between Florence and Milan. Casoni graduated in 2013 with a BA in Visual Arts and Painting from the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA), Milan. Recent exhibitions include Switch at Isorropia Home Gallery, Voyage au bout de la nuit, The Court, Pescara, Purple Drank, Rita Urso Gallery, Milan, Passengers, The Flat-Massimo Carasi, Milan. Casoni is currently in residence at The Depot, Manchester.

Tiziano Martini (Born Soltau, 1983) lives and works in Belluno, Italy. Martini graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Painting from the Academy of Art, Venice. Recent exhibitions include Die Tücken der neuen Freiheit, Achenbach Hagemeier, Dusseldorf, Firnt, A+B Gallery, Brescia, Italy, Monsieur Fanta!, A+B Gallery, Brescia, Italy, Catalizzatore, OTTOZOO, Milan, The Essential Bruce Springsteen, Andersen’s Contemporary, Copenhagen and Volumes at Berthold Pott, Cologne. He received the Lepsien Art Foundation Residency grant in 2015, and was shortlisted for the 2016 Premio Lissone Prize. Martini’s work was previously exhibited in Hunted Projects exhibition, Works On Paper, 2015.

Jordy Kerwick (Born Melbourne, 1982) lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. Recent exhibitions include Micro Macro Paintings Of Love & Hate, TW Fine Art, Brisbane, Sweep The Leg Johnny, PT.2 Gallery, Oakland, Precious Memories, Diary of an Introvert, Delphian Gallery, London, Auto LP, Melbourne, Angry Boys, Galerie Rompone, Cologne, Summer Cool, Anna Zorina Gallery, New York, Fresh AF, TW Fine Art, Brisbane. Kerwick’s work is held in International private collections.

Ben Charles Weiner (Born Burlington, 1980) lives and works in New York City. Weiner graduated in 2003 with a BA in Studio Art from Wesleyan University. Recent exhibitions include Textures of You, Mark Moore Gallery, Culver City, Maximum Strength Age Defy, Mark Moore Gallery, Culver City, Post Psychedelic Dreams, Grey East, East Hampton, Scientific Visions, Ochi Gallery, Ketchum, Pop Culture, Boca Museum of Art, Florida, Under the Influence of Finance and Fashion, Carnegie Museum of Art and Elements of Nature, Carnegie Art Museum, Oxnard California. Ben’s work is held in numerous private and public collections, including the Sammlung Mondstudio, Hamburg and Frederick R. Weisman Foundation, Los Angeles.

Alexander James Pollard (Born Brighton, 1977) lives and works in London. Pollard is currently undertaking his Phd in Fine Art at Kingston University, London. His MPhil titled A Genealogy of Bad Painting – Legacies, Soft Objects and Networks was undertaken part-time from 2012-17 at Goldsmiths College, London. In 2005 Pollard represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale and was a curator at Transmission gallery, Glasgow between 1999 and 2001. Recent exhibitions include Paleo-Fauvism, Hop Project Space, Folkestone, Jungle, Celine Gallery, Glasgow, WOW Paintings, Young Team HQ, London, Painting and Drawing and the Digital, Northampton University Gallery, Internet Curtains, Tramway, Glasgow and Not For All My Little Words, Marc Straus Gallery, New York. Pollard has won numerous art prizes, including the Marshall Trust Award, Oppenheim Trust Award, Eaton Trust Award and The Henry Moore Foundation Grant, A/O. Pollards works is held in numerous private and public collections, including Arts Council of England, Scottish National Gallery and Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, Portugal.
